The Department for Transport and OLEV have recently announced further investment in the EV infrastructure to further improve this offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of a \u00a3500 million pound investment package, the departments aim to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Have at least 6 high powered charging points that can deliver around 120-145 mile range in 15 minutes, at all motorway service stations by 2023, with some larger stations having as many as 10-12<\/li><li>Have an extensive network of over 2,500 charging points in place by 2030<\/li><li>Further grow this figure to 6,000 charging points by 2035.<br>(Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/government-vision-for-the-rapid-chargepoint-network-in-england\/government-vision-for-the-rapid-chargepoint-network-in-england\">Gov.UK<\/a>)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With these objectives achieved, the departments expect to offer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>99% charging availability<\/li><li>24\/7 customer care and technical support available for EV charging<\/li><li>affordable charging facilities that can be paid with via credit\/debit card<\/li><li>sites that can cater to all charging and EV vehicle requirements<br>(Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/government-vision-for-the-rapid-chargepoint-network-in-england\/government-vision-for-the-rapid-chargepoint-network-in-england\">Gov.UK<\/a>)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more about the upcoming plans and objectives <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/government-vision-for-the-rapid-chargepoint-network-in-england\/government-vision-for-the-rapid-chargepoint-network-in-england\">here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UK Government is committed to ending the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles by 2035, if not earlier.
